Make It Safe For Children To Play Outside
Please sign the petition Make It Safe For Children Like Makaylyn Lee, 9, To Play Outside we put together with input from Marvin Lee, Makaylyn Lee’s father, asking the city to install appropriate traffic calming to make the street where she lost her life. Her family is devastated and would like action now to ensure that no more children in this area are hit by a vehicle. Children should be able to play in front of their homes.

Past Successes
Palmer Statue
The Palmer Statue (AKA Man On Horse) in the middle of Nevada Ave and Platte Ave has caused numerous crashes and multiple deaths. We recieved more than 100 signatures within a week to change this intersection to roundabout is the most sensible solution. Sign our petition here to ask the city to change this intersection to a roundabout.

The Launchpad
The Launchpad is a supportive housing apartment building under construction now on Colorado Springs’ Westside. In support of the launchpad we drafted a letter that was signed onto by over 50 local supporters. We would like to think that our support helped city council to get this great project to the finish line.

Zero Fare for Better Air Activations
Throughout the summer (June-August) we organized events around the Free Fare for Better Air bus service to show potential riders how easy riding the bus is, especially when it is no cost. The Colorado Sun Reported that “More than 350,000 boardings were recorded in July, breaking the monthly record set in 2008”. We are excited for this year’s success and hopeful that we can help support Mountain Metro’s implementation of this State of Colorado program for years to come.

Centennial/Constitution Extension
The Centennial/Constitution Extension was a plan to connect Constitution to I25 on the old Rock Island rail right of way. We were in strong opposition as this would have run thousands of cars through a quiet neighborhood. We were glad to see this removed as a potential option from Connect COS
